Zombie Commercial Shoot
I am pleased to say I am now allowed to show you guys the zombie's I created for a fun commercial shoot. I had a blast applying 3 zombie makeups that day (only 2 were really seen but there was 1 background zombie) as well as a broken ankle. I ran these pieces out of foam latex and used some 3D transfers along with them to give them some generic rot. The commercial turned out great and will see if I can get it uploaded at some point. I still need to check with the production about that but I have gotten the go ahead to show you guys the pictures. I hope you enjoy them.

Laying a Beard
Today I asked a good friend of mine to be a model for me while I applied a beard to add to my portfolio. I have done beards before but never got any pictures of them due to the busy schedule. So I decided to go ahead and lay one down. Not only is it good practice for me but it keeps me motivated when I get to do makeups like this.
I used WM Creations xtra hold spirit gum to apply the hair. I used a mixture of yak hair and human hair that I pre crimped using my 1800's fluter. The crimping fluter worked wonders and gave the hair a coarse look.
It took maybe an hour to apply, style and cut the beard to length. Over all it looked good but I believe next time I will make it a bit fuller underneath. Due to Jason's lack of hair growth we assumed it would look like this if he were able to grow a beard.

Grinchmas 2012
It's been a while since I last posted but wanted to make sure I added these pics. This is my Grinch makeup I did for Universal's Grinchmas 2012. It was a blast as always and it was great working with so many talented people. I applied multiple Who noses this year but I was also honored to be asked to makeup a Grinch. Below are some of the pics of the Grinch makeup I did. Just paint and application. Universal Studios sculpted and ran the appliances.

Acne Scars Portfolio Pictures
So I finally got the time to do the Acne Scars for the person they were made for. My good friend Alie came over and I was able to apply them today. She was a super awesome sport and sat through everything I put her through. I believe the scars turned out well and will be using the pictures for my updated portfolio. The scars are bondo transfers and came out nice. I tinted them using a little bit of pax and some flocking. Enjoy the time lapse and final pictures below.

A Demo On Acne Scars
Today I did a demo at Joe Blasco on 3D transfers. It is a demo I do for a good friend of mine and everyone seems to enjoy the knowledge and demo on prosthetics. I decided that instead of doing blood and gore makeup that I would do something more "realistic" and show the true meaning of Special FX makeup. So many people believe Special FX makeup is nothing but blood and guts but in reality what we do is so much more. We provide actors the tools (via makeup) to get into character. Simple things as a prosthetic nose, hair, scars and more can change the way an actor gets into character. So today I decided to create a quick makeup using 3D transfers. I went with the beautiful acne scars. I created my sculpts, molded, and ran the pieces and applied them.
I started out with my sculpt in Chavant NSP medium clay. I sculpted 2 cheeks, a chin, and nose appliance. After texturing it, I created my flashing with Keen clay and sealed the sculpt with crystal clear. Once the sculpt was sealed I poured in the silicone (in this case Mold Star 16).
Once I got my plate mold finished, I filled them up with my blend of bondo tinted paste and ran the pieces. They cam out wonderful and slight coloration was needed to blend into the skin. Stay tuned for that photoshoot.
